Long-standing efforts towards the setting up of a National Bargaining Forum for the Legislative Sector culminated in the launch of the National Bargaining Forum in November 2019. The signing of the Memorandum of Agreement between the Legislatures Employers’ Organisation and Nehawu establishing the National Bargaining Forum for SA Legislatures formed part of the ceremony.
The inaugural collective bargaining process has subsequently been initiated with consultations kicking off in July 2020. Negotiations are ongoing and it is intended that the process will be concluded by September 2020.
