Induction of new Speakers' Forum South Africa of the 6th parliamentary term

Following the recent elections, a new Speakers' Forum for the 6th Parliamentary term will be formed and the induction of the Speakers' Forum is expected to take place towards end July 2019.

The worksession will focus on the handover and legacy issues from the 5th Parliament Speakers' Forum whilst also considering policy priorities for the 6th term for the whole of the Legislative Sector as an arm of state. This will provide direction for the respective legislatures to determine their own aligned priorities and related strategies.

The Speakers' Forum South Africa was established in 1996 and consists of the Speaker and Deputy Speaker of the National Assembly, the Chairperson and Deputy Chairperson of the National Council of Provinces and the Speakers and Deputy Speakers of the nine Provincial Legislatures of South Africa.
